” Isä puhkeaa kyyneliin nähdessään vauvansa ruumiin, toinen lyö itseään otsaan löytäessään kaksi lastaan kuolleina. Viisi holtittomasti itkevää tomun peittämää lasta tuodaan paikalle.

Muun muassa tällaisista näkymistä raportoitiin Itä-Ghoutan kapinallisalueen sairaalassa, kun Syyrian hallituksen pommikoneet olivat rusikoineet aluetta tiistaina.

Lähes 200 ihmistä kuoli ja yli 800 haavoittui iskuissa pelkästään maanantaina ja tiistaiaamuna, kertoi Syyrian sisällissotaa tarkkaileva järjestö Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. Joukossa on paljon lapsia.

Iraqi Army Downs Two British Planes Carrying Weapons for ISIL Terrorists

al-Anbar province: numerous flights by US-led coalition planes airdrop weapons and supplies for ISIL in terrorist-held areas.

Iraq’s army has shot down two British planes as they were carrying weapons for the ISIL terrorists in Al-Anbar province, a senior lawmaker disclosed on Monday.

“The Iraqi Parliament’s National Security and Defense Committee has access to the photos of both planes that are British and have crashed while they were carrying weapons for the ISIL,” Head of the committee Hakem al-Zameli said, according to a Monday report of the Arabic-language information center of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq.

He said the Iraqi parliament has asked London for explanations in this regard.

The senior Iraqi legislator further unveiled that the government in Baghdad is receiving daily reports from people and security forces in al-Anbar province on numerous flights by the US-led coalition planes that airdrop weapons and supplies for ISIL in terrorist-held areas.

The Iraqi lawmaker further noted the cause of such western aids to the terrorist group, and explained that the US prefers a chaotic situation in Anbar Province which is near the cities of Karbala and Baghdad as it does not want the ISIL crisis to come to an end.

Earlier today, a senior Iraqi provincial official lashed out at the western countries and their regional allies for supporting Takfiri terrorists in Iraq, revealing that US and Israeli-made weapons have been discovered from the areas purged of ISIL terrorists.

“We have discovered weapons made in the US, European countries and Israel from the areas liberated from ISIL’s control in Al-Baqdadi region,” the Al-Ahad news website quoted Head of Al-Anbar Provincial Council Khalaf Tarmouz as saying.

He noted that the weapons made by the European countries and Israel were discovered from the terrorists in the Eastern parts of the city of Ramadi.

Al-Zameli had also disclosed in January that the anti-ISIL coalition’s planes have dropped weapons and foodstuff for the ISIL in Salahuddin, Al-Anbar and Diyala provinces.

Al-Zameli underlined that  the coalition is the main cause of ISIL’s survival in Iraq.

“There are proofs and evidence for the US-led coalition’s military aid to ISIL terrorists through air(dropped cargoes),” he told FNA in January.

He noted that the members of his committee have already proved that the US planes have dropped advanced weaponry, including anti-aircraft weapons, for the ISIL, and that it has set up an investigation committee to probe into the matter.

“The US drops weapons for the ISIL on the excuse of not knowing about the whereabouts of the ISIL positions and it is trying to distort the reality with its allegations.

He noted that the committee had collected the data and the evidence provided by eyewitnesses, including Iraqi army officers and the popular forces, and said, “These documents are given to the investigation committee … and the necessary measures will be taken to protect the Iraqi airspace.”

Also in January, another senior Iraqi legislator reiterated that the US-led coalition is the main cause of ISIL’s survival in Iraq.

“The international coalition is only an excuse for protecting the ISIL and helping the terrorist group with equipment and weapons,” Jome Divan, who is member of the al-Sadr bloc in the Iraqi parliament, said.

He said the coalition’s support for the ISIL is now evident to everyone, and continued, “The coalition has not targeted ISIL’s main positions in Iraq.”

In late December, Iraqi Parliamentary Security and Defense Commission MP disclosed that a US plane supplied the ISIL terrorist organization with arms and ammunition in Salahuddin province.

MP Majid al-Gharawi stated that the available information pointed out that US planes are supplying ISIL organization, not only in Salahuddin province, but also other provinces, Iraq TradeLink reported.

He added that the US and the international coalition are “not serious in fighting against the ISIL organization, because they have the technological power to determine the presence of ISIL gunmen and destroy them in one month”.

Gharawi added that “the US is trying to expand the time of the war against the ISIL to get guarantees from the Iraqi government to have its bases in Mosul and Anbar provinces.”

Salahuddin security commission also disclosed that “unknown planes threw arms and ammunition to the ISIL gunmen Southeast of Tikrit city”.

" Itä-Ghoutan kapinallisryhmät

27.2.2018 17:05 Annika Rauhala

Suomalainen ulkomaan uutisointi on ollut heikkoa, mutta nyt taisi Iltalehti tehdä pohjat. Se otsikoi

"Kapinalliset valmiita karkoittamaan jihadistit Itä-Ghoutasta - tulitauko edellytys"

Itä-Ghoutassa toimivat pääryhmät sinänsä on nimetty oikein.

Salafistinen Jaish al-Islam on ehkä merkittävin ryhmistä ja dominoi Itä-Ghoutan itäistä puolta ja Doumaa. Se ajaa islamilaista valtiota sharia-lakeineen. Tässä pari vuotta vanhassa al-Jazeeran jutussa http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2015/11/syria-bombs-douma-human-shields-151103171542946.html%C2%A0Jaish kuljettaa Syyrian hallintoa kannattavia alaviitteja häkissä ihmiskilviksi Itä-Ghoutaan.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaysh_al-Islam

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Rahman_Legion

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahrar_al-Sham

Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham on alunperin tämä Syyrian al-Qaida ja useaan kertaan yrittänyt nimeä vaihtamalla lieventää mainettaan.

" Fake News UN Report on North Korea and Syria

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org – Home – Stephen Lendman)

The UN under Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and most of his predecessors operates as Washington’s imperial ally – flagrantly violating its Charter principles.

An unreleased world body report, shared with the NYT, irresponsibly suggested North Korea may be helping Syria produce chemical weapons.

Its entire CW stockpile was destroyed, elimination completed in late June 2014 – confirmed by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).

No evidence suggests any CWs remain. Nothing indicates Syria ever used these agents throughout seven years of war – or intends secretly producing new ones.

Plenty of damning evidence shows US-supported terrorists used toxic agents numerous times, mostly against defenseless civilians – Syria falsely blamed for their high crimes.

Recent and earlier accusations and allegations of Syrian use of CWs were and remain bald-faced lies.

Citing from the UN report, the Times said “supplies from North Korea include acid-resistant tiles, valves and thermometers,” adding:

“North Korean missile technicians have also been spotted working at known chemical weapons and missile facilities inside Syria…”

None exist. The report lied claiming otherwise. It’s unknown when the UN report will be released. Unnamed so-called “experts” were involved in preparing it.

Clearly it was produced to give Washington and its rogue partners red meat ammunition to use as justification for stiffer sanctions and possible aggression against North Korea, along with likely escalating conflict in Syria more than already.

The Times: “(E)xperts who viewed the report said the evidence it cited did not prove definitively that there was current, continuing collaboration between North Korea and Syria on chemical weapons…”

If no evidence proves a North Korean/Syrian connection to produce CWs, why did the UN release the report to the NYT – letting it falsely headline “UN Links North Korea to Syria’s Chemical Weapons Program.”

No Syrian CW program exists. Nothing proves otherwise. Yet the NYT, complicit with anti-North Korea/anti-Syria UN authorities, gave Washington and its imperial partners false testimony about both countries.

Is the world body under Guterres promoting war – instead of trying to “save succeeding generations from (its) scourge,” as mandated in its Charter?

Is it on the side of the devil, not the angels? Throughout its existence, the UN most often served as a US imperial tool, notably in recent decades.

Is Guterres committed to exceeding the worst of his predecessors?

Will he match Star Trek by going where no previous secretary-general went before – overtly or discreetly supporting US-led naked aggression instead of responsibly denouncing it!

" US training Syria militants for false flag chemical attack as basis for airstrikesRussian MoD

Published time: 17 Mar, 2018 13:19 Edited time: 17 Mar, 2018 18:35

Russia’s Defense Ministry says “US instructors” are training militants to stage false flag chemical attacks in south Syria. The incidents are said to be a pretext for airstrikes on Syrian government troops and infrastructure.

“We have reliable information at our disposal that US instructors have trained a number of militant groups in the vicinity of the town of At-Tanf, to stage provocations involving chemical warfare agents in southern Syria,” Russian General Staff spokesman General Sergey Rudskoy said at a news briefing on Saturday.

“Early in March, the saboteur groups were deployed to the southern de-escalation zone to the city of Deraa, where the units of the so-called Free Syrian Army are stationed.”

“They are preparing a series of chemical munitions explosions. This fact will be used to blame the government forces. The components to produce chemical munitions have been already delivered to the southern de-escalation zone under the guise of humanitarian convoys of a number of NGOs.”

The planned provocations will be widely covered in the Western media and will ultimately be used as a pretext by the US-led coalition to launch strikes on Syria, Rudskoy warned.

“The provocations will be used as a pretext by the United States and its allies to launch strikes on military and government infrastructure in Syria,” the official stated.

“We’re registering the signs of the preparations for the possible strikes. Strike groups of the cruise missile carriers have been formed in the east of the Mediterranean Sea, Persian Gulf and Red Sea.”

Another false flag chemical attack is being prepared in the province of Idlib by the “Al-Nusra Front terrorist group, in coordination with the White Helmets,” Rudskoy warned. The militants have already received 20 containers of chlorine to stage the incident, he said.

The US military has dismissed the accusations raised by the Russian Defence Ministry. Pentagon spokesman Adrian Rankine-Galloway described Rudskoy's statement as “extremely absurd,” RIA Novosti reported.

READ MORE: Terrorist capabilities laid bare in an Eastern Ghouta chemical lab

Moscow and Damascus have repeatedly warned about upcoming chemical provocations, and have highlighted that banned warfare agents have been used by the militants. Earlier this week, Syrian government forces reportedly captured a well-equipped chemical laboratory in Eastern Ghouta. Footage from the facility has been published by the SANA news agency. The installation contained modern industrial-grade hardware of foreign origins, large amounts of chemical substances as well as crude homemade munitions ad their parts. "

Turkki: Syyrian Afrin on vallattu – Paikallishallinto aloitti evakuoinnit

Afrin on ollut kurdien YPG-joukkojen hallinnassa. Uutistoimiston mukaan kaupungista on paennut pelkästään sunnuntaina 20 000 ihmistä.

18.3.2018 klo 11:48

Turkki on vallannut Syyrian luoteisosassa sijaitsevan Afrinin kaupungin, kertoo uutistoimisto Reuters.

Afrinin paikallishallinto on päättänyt evakuoida siviilejä kaupungista, jotta pahempi katastrofi siviileille vältettäisiin.

Afrinista on paennut yli 150000 ihmistä muutaman päivän aikana. Uutistoimisto Reutersin mukaan pelkästään sunnuntaina Afrinista on paennut 20 000 ihmistä.

" Turkey | Syria: Latest Developments in Afrin District (as of 19 Mar 2018)

Highlights

An estimated 98,000 people were displaced from Afrin district: 75,000 people were displaced to Tall Refaat sub-district, 15,500 to Nabul town and 8,500 to Zahraa town.

• The massive influx of IDPs is putting a strain on host communities, which are already overwhelmed. All 16m schools in Tall Refaat are being used as IDP shelters. As a result, no education taking place.

• UN teams observed that the majority of IDPs are women, children, and elderly people. Some IDPs said that it took them 36 hours to reach the sub-district. Serious gaps in the WASH sector have been reported, putting the

displaced population at risk of contracting different diseases. Provision of health services in Tall Refaat sub-district is very limited with only one health point providing services.

• On 18 March, Turkish Armed Forces and allied Free Syrian Army factions established control over approximately

90% of Afrin district including Afrin city following 59 days of fighting.

• The United Nations has received worrying reports of threats of violence and arbitrary arrest against civilians, as

well as looting of civilian property, by Syria participants to the conflict in in Afrin city. These reports are deeply concerning. The UN demands that the parties to the conflict to respect their obligation under International Humanitarian Law and human rights law.

Situation Overview

On 18 March, Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) and allied Free Syrian Army (FSA) factions exerted control over Afrin city,

following the withdrawal of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) from the city. Hostilities in the district began on 20 January when Turkish officials announced the beginning of Operation Olive Branch. Throughout the past 59 days, TAF and FSA factions established control over approximately 90% of the areas that were previously under the control of SDF in Afrin district, with few communities to the south of Afrin town remaining under the control of SDF.

The initial stages of the military operations in Afrin district caused tens of thousands of people to displace to Afrin city and surrounding communities. The then local authorities in the district imposed restrictions on the movement of civilians out of Afrin district, forcing some civilians to use unofficial means to flee the violence

in their communities.

With hostilities moving closer to the central part of the district around the middle of March, these restrictions relaxed and thousands of civilians fled. It is currently estimated that 98,000 people were displaced from the   district: 75,000people displaced to Tall Refaat sub-district, 15,500 to Nabul town and 8,500 to Zahraa town. Additionally, a few thousand people reportedly reached SDF-held areas in Menbij district, and 150 families reportedly reached Al-Hasakeh governorate, where they are being hosted at Norwoz camp in Al-Malikeyyeh sub-district.

Tokkura
Seuraa
Viestejä6731

Based on these estimates, it is possible there are some 50,000 to 70,000 people who remained in Afrin city.

The massive influx of IDPs out of Afrin is putting a strain on the nearby host communities, which are already overwhelmed. All 16 schools in Tall Refaat sub-district are being used as IDP shelters resulting in no education taking place. Based on a field visit to Tall Refaat sub-district on 17 March, UN teams observed that the majority of IDPs are women, children, and elderly people. Some IDPs said that it took them 36 hours to reach the sub-district.

Serious gaps in the WASH sector have been reported, putting the displaced population at risk of contracting different diseases. Provision of health services in Tall Refaat sub-district is very limited with only one health point providing services.

Referrals could only take place to a private hospital in Zahra a town, which does not offer free services. In Nabul town, IDPs are mostly staying with the host community but the recent wave is being accommodated in warehouses and mosques. In Zahra a town, most IDPs are being accommodated in mosques or renting houses.

Should more IDPs arrive, there is high likelihood that schools in both towns will be turned into shelters.

With hostilities in Afrin district reducing, the fuel supply routes to north-western Syria are expected to be reopened soon. Local sources in north-western Syria already reported that commercial trucks passing through Afrin district reached north-western Syria for the first time since 20 January. The disruption of the fuel supply routes has had significant impact on the operations of humanitarian organizations in Idleb governorate and adjacent NSAG held areas, with few organizations reportedly suspending some activities.

Following the change in control that took place on 18 March, there have been worrying reports of threats of violence and arbitrary arrest being carried out against civilians by FSA members, as well as looting of civilian property, emerged from Afrin city. The UN views these reports with utmost concern and demands the parties to the conflict to respect their obligation under International Humanitarian Law and human rights law.

On 19 March, some FSA factions issued orders preventing their fighters from entering Afrin city without an of

ficial permission, to curb such misconduct.

Challenges and Humanitarian Response

Information on the conditions of people in Afrin is scare, and the few partners operating in the area are attempting to respond. The situation remains fluid, and it is expected that in the coming days that as hostilities lessen in the rural areas of Afrin district, people are expected to want return.

In Afrin city, local media sources reported few incidents of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) detonating and causing casualties in Afrin city.

The level of contamination in the city remains unknown.

Anecdotal information indicates that the contamination is limited to the buildings which were being used by Kurdish authorities in the city.

Following reports of looting of civilian property in Afrin city, local sources from Afrin district that were displaced to Tall Refaat sub-district expressed hesitance about going back to the city.

Civilians reportedly fear being perceived as affiliated by the SDF, which might subject them to detention or

persecution.

It is essential that parties to the conflict ensure the protection of civilians who remained in Afrin district and those who are wishing to return.

The water situation in Afrin city remains an issue of concern. Water shortages in Afrin city were reported in the beginning of March following the destruction of a water pumping station in Jandairis sub-district, and the change in control that happened at the 17th of April (Midanki) Dam’, north - east of Afrin city. Prior to the takeover of Afrin city on 18 March, civilians resorted to using water from the nearby boreholes, which was not being chlorinated. The restoration of potable water through the networks remains a major priority to ensure that civilians residing in the city have sufficient access to potable water and are not at the risk of contracting waterborne diseases.

With regards to health services, reports indicate that the majority of the city’s medical staff were among the displaced population to the nearby communities.

Presently, local sources report that a private hospital in the western part of the city is still operational. A small number of doctors also remain present in the city. The lack of health professionals indicates the presence of a large gap in the health sector, which warrants a dequate response.

The UN is providing people in need in Tall Refaat sub-district, as well as Nabul and Zahraa towns with food, health, nutrition, WASH, protection services and NFIs. Additional aid is already in the pipeline to scale up the response. UN aid delivered to date include 6,015 ready to eat rations and 1,000 bundles of bread (daily) to Zahraa and Nabul, medical supplies for 29,000 in Zahraa and Nabul towns, health supplies sufficient for 33,700 beneficiaries delivered to the Afrin department of health, supplies for 6,500 under five children and pregnant and lactating women in Afrin city, 250,000 liters of water provided per day through water trucking in Afrin city neighborhoods, a child friendly space and community center (services for child protection, psycho-social support and gender-based violence) in Zahraa and Nabul and NFI kits, winterization items and clothing kits for thousands of people in Tal Refaat, Nabul and Zahraa.

In Tall Refaat sub-district, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) is providing primary health care services through

two mobile teams. Access to nutrition services is extremely limited. Anecdotal evidence shows malnutrition is a

concern, but no assessment has been done yet. SARC is distributing high energy biscuits to children under five and pregnant and lactating women. No cases of unaccompanied children have so far been reported; however, many children are being looked after by extended family members. Children with disabilities are not receiving the services they need.

In areas which were recently taken by the Olive Branch forces, the Turkish Red Crescent (TRC) distributed 500 food baskets; 19,000 ready-to-eat meals; 500 hygiene kits; 250 blankets; 60 mattresses; 1,083 clothing and 918 non-food items in 24 locations across Afrin district, between 15 February and 15 March. Main observations by the TRC indicate that the main needs are food and nutrition supplies, non-food items (specifically baby diapers), a

nd hygiene kits.

The UN stands ready to deliver multi-sectoral assistance to 50,000 IDPs in Afrin and Tall Refaat sub-district, through the cross - line modality, once approvals and security guarantees are provided by all parties to the conflict.

Given the change in control in Afrin district, it is likely that cross-öööline actors will not be able to access the parts of Afrin district that came under the control of TAF and FSA factions. Needs in these areas will have to be met through the cross-border modality.

Historically, the humanitarian footprint of cross-border actors in Afrin district has been small; however, this is expected to change in the near future, as a number of Syrian NGOs, who are based in Turkey, are mobilizing resources to respond to the needs in the district.

https://dninews.com/article/russia-warns-us-about-attacking-syria

" Russia warns US about attacking Syria

Tuesday, March 20, 2018 - 17:58

Russia has called on the United States to abandon its unconditional plans for a strike against the Syrian government forces and Damascus.

"We've warned and warned the US that these plans must be unconditionally refused. Any such unlawful use of force, similar to what happened almost a year ago at the Shairat air base, would be an act of aggression against a sovereign state, as defined by the relevant article of the UN Charter," said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

Sergei Ryabkov believes that if the situation in Syria and, in particular, Eastern Ghouta changes for the better, opponents to a peaceful resolution to the conflict could incite the international community by sabotaging this process, possibly by using chemical weapons.

"The situation in Eastern Ghouta has changed radically for the better," Sergei Ryabkov told reporters on Tuesday.

He drew attention to the fact that tens of thousands of people had already left the danger zone.

"All this, of course, infuriates, in the truest sense of the word, the opponents of the government in Damascus; they are looking for new pretexts for attacks on us and on Syria," Ryabkov said. "In this situation, of course, any provocations are possible, and we need to be prepared. Provocations could include staging the use of chemical weapons by government troops."

Staged 'chemical attacks' will continue in Syria as Syrian troops advance, he added.

Earlier, US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said that the US was prepared to act on the use of chemical weapons in Syria. According to him, the United States struck at the Shairat airbase, after a chemical attack in Syria's Khan Sheikhoun on April 4, 2017, as the UN Security Council "was unable to take action."

Sweden: White Helmets Slaughtered Kids In Fake Gas Attack

April 9, 2017 Sean Adl-Tabatabai Conspiracies 11

Swedish Doctors for Human Rights say they have found evidence that the chemical attack on Syrian civilians on Tuesday was a ‘false flag’ carried out by the White Helmets.

The doctors say that videos purporting to show an alleged attack by Syrian government forces are counterfeit, and that the subsequent “rescue” by the Al-Qaeda affiliated White Helmets was actually a covert slaughter of civilians.

On first analysis, it looked as though the doctors working on the child assumed he was already dead.

However, after broader investigation, our team ascertained that the boy was unconscious from an overdose of opiates. The video shows the child receiving injections in his chest, perhaps in the area of the heart and was eventually killed while a clearly fake adrenaline injection was administered.

This was a murder.

The doctors determined in its analysis:

• The video should be life-saving measures after a chemical attack with chlorine gas [now claimed to be Sarin-not possible], including injection of adrenaline via syringe with a long needle into the heart of an infant. In no way were treatments correctly given for any potential chemical agent.

• The handling and treatment of the child was done in a manner that was careless, dangerous and likely to cause serious harm.

• Most telling is the fake repeated shots of adrenalin, supposedly into the heart. The medical personnel, and I think we can safely call them actors at this point, failed to push the plunger on the needle. Thus, the contents of the syringe were never injected as is clearly visible in the video itself.

• The visible diagnosis by a team of actual medical experts, based on what is observed in the video, indicates that the child was suffering from an injection of opiates and was likely dying of an overdose. There is no evidence of any other agent, chemical or otherwise.

• None of the children in the videos showed any sign of being a victim of a chemical attack. From an earlier video by the White Helmets:

• It was clear that the faked injection with the long needle administered through the stitches murdered the child in the video. This was a purposeful killing staged to appear as medical treatment.

• Behind the fake translation of the videos, the actual Arabic included stage directions for positioning the child for the video, not for medical treatment.

This was followed by more macabre discoveries in the videos not seen initially in the article White Helmets Movie: Updated Evidence from Swedish Doctors Confirm Fake Life Saving Practices Injure Children.

The collective findings of the Swedish doctors [swedhr] with regard to the propaganda and fakery by al-Qaeda in Syria: (Al Nusra) are in line with the findings of leading German and International Scientists for Syria War.

Will America Accept Its Defeat or Challenge the Bear and the Dragon? Part 1: Syria

Both Russia and China are now working closely to put an end to the unipolar superpower and end US world dominance

Elijah J. Magnier Mar 29, 2018

War is Coming

Following the liberation of  eastern Ghouta from the jihadists,  and their departure to the northern city of Idlib under al-Qaeda and Turkish control, the city of Duma is now engaged in negotiations with the Russian side to find a way out for the militants of the  “Army of Islam” (Jaish al-Islam). These militants fought against many jihadists and rebels and have therefore no remaining friends in the Syrian arena. However, this negotiation  has become a tactical detail because the capital, Damascus, has become safe and is no longer exposed to daily shelling as was the case before the liberation of Ghouta.

What next?

The Yarmouk Camp and al-Hajar al-Aswad:

The elimination of the “Islamic State” group (ISIS) and the remnants of al-Qaeda in the Yarmouk camp and the nearby area of al-Hajar al-Aswad, south of Damascus, is also a tactical detail because there is no way out for these militants, trapped on all sides : the liberation of the area is not an issue.

The Syrian Steppe (al-Badiya):

In the Syrian steppes (al-Badiya), ISIS has still a pocket that the Syrian army is expecting to deal with this summer. This area is also totally besieged, ISIS can go nowhere and, while waiting, its willpower and morale are deteriorating and reaching a minimum level.

Idlib and al-Qaeda:

As for the city of Idlib where the various opposition and jihadist forces are multiplying, the latter remain in a permanent power struggle that eats at each other. They will not be able to manage the presence of different nationalities and creeds opposing each other in one city. Therefore, the role of Turkey will be crucial in manoeuvring control in this area and prevent infighting among jihadists or even eliminate those unwilling to submit to Ankara’s policy. ...

...  US occupation forces in Deir-Ezzour and al-Hasaka:

US forces remain in the north-east (almost 24% of the total Syrian territories under the US army’s control), with a large ISIS pocket protected by Washington at the present time “for undeclared reasons and objectives”. ISIS is deployed on the  Syrian-Iraqi borders and conducts a « normal life » as they show in propaganda media adverts. Moreover, ISIS militants carry out insurgency attacks against the Syrian and the Iraqi Armies from both sides of the borders they are very familiar with.

It is most unlikely for the US forces to leave anytime soon unless forced to by insurgency attacks. They would want to avoid major casualties if and when the environment in which they exist becomes hostile.

Washington has proved it is capable of bearing losses, in Iraq. It remained despite the loss of about 4,500 troops and officers. As the ex-US Secretary of State James Baker said: ”America will go to war in the Middle East if necessary to control energy sources.”

Indeed, in Syria, there are energy resources (oil and gas) under US control which amount to about 13 percent of the total Syrian stock. In addition, the US presence makes it easier for Israel to use a US established airport in north-east Syria as a hub on the Syrian-Iraqi border.

The United States can also reshuffle the situation in Iraq, Syria and Turkey to threaten all these countries with a possible “Kurdish state” since the local Kurds are those protecting and acting like US proxies. Even though, it is an unlikely scenario and the Kurds are expected to be abandoned by the US forces at a certain point and left to their destiny sometime in the future.

However, the US goals in occupied Syrian territory go against all the bordering countries and this may influence the duration of the US presence. There is no doubt that the US occupation of Syrian territory is very disturbing to the anti-American axis and is considered as a “poisonous thorn” in the Levant.

On the other hand, the existence of ISIS has also become a small detail because it is besieged. It can move freely within the American enclave but cautiously toward its enemies: the Syrian and Iraqi armies. Therefore, it does not have any strategic horizon, especially since the Islamist card failed to change the Iraqi and the Syrian regimes. The “creative chaos” installed by the American establishment under the title of “The New Middle East” has also failed in its hoped for effect.

...  Daraa and Quneitra:

This does not mean Syria is liberated and that the control of the Syrian state extends over the entire Syrian territory. But there is an important battle coming up in the south of Syria in the Daraa and Quneitra provinces.

Why is this battle important, and more important than the pocket of ISIS in Yarmouk or the Syrian Steppe, or even more important than the city of Idlib, where Al Qaeda and other groups have gathered in the past two years?

The big dilemma remains for the two southern provinces: Daraa and Quneitra. These two provinces are on the border with Israel in the de-escalation zone agreed between the US, Jordan and the Russian.

But Damascus insists on liberating it with or without Russia’s approval. The Syrian government would also like to liberate that area which is under al-Qaeda, the rebels plus the one in the control of pro-ISIS militants of “Jaish Khaled bin Walid” .

And of course, as soon as we talk about the Syrian army liberating an al-Qaeda controlled territory, we can as usual expect an avalanche of accusations by the international media where the area will be portrayed as « lived in exclusively by over half a million civilians all defending their homes. »

This manipulation of and by the media has been going on since the battles for Qusseyr, Qalamoun, Aleppo, Madaya and finally the battle of Ghouta. Washington has instructed the CIA, the Pentagon and the US State Department to use civilian tools with Non Governmental Organisations to raise human rights concern only against those countries who have rejected US dominance. This has been the case since the first day Russia set foot in Syria in September 2015, when it was undermined until the situation of the ground turned in favour of the Syrian government, and this is when serious criticism and attacks began against Russia and against Damascus’s allies in Syria.

For these particular reasons, Daraa must be the priority for the Syrian government to solve. It must initiate the negotiation to clear all militants willing to be dumped in Idlib – the « trash bin » destination where all jihadists are sent to from all the liberated areas of Syria.

The US has lost the « extremist battle »- they were incapable of achieving the “regime change” objective in Syria. That was the awakening of the Russian bear from its long hibernation who realised how the US was trying to corner it. Moscow also relied on the Chinese dragon, which shares Russia’s goals to eliminate all extremists and jihadist terrorists in Syria.

Both Russia and China are now working closely to put an end to the uni-polar superpower and thus end US world dominance.
